The Griffin Elite Sports Performance & Wellness Center will be hosting camps throughout July for kids ages 6-12 promoting various sports activities.

The camps will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday of July and include, basketball and soccer drills and games, as well as various agility and obstacle courses.

Griffin Elite opened in October of 2015 and is an athlete-focused sports training facility that specializes in sports-science in order to assist athletes in reaching their best potential.

From last year’s camps

In January the sports facility partnered with St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare and Orthocity to provide sports medicine and physical therapy to the community. NBA trainer Jordan Lawley will visit the facility in July to host a camp of his own, teaching specific basketball skills and techniques.

The Griffin Elite kids camps began last summer. The 21,000 square foot facility includes indoor turf and three hardwood basketball courses.

Greg Von Hoene, general manager, spoke about what the camp can offer kids.

“What differentiates us is our climate-controlled environment,” Von Hoene said. “There’s nothing else like it.”

The facility is able to keep kids and athletes cool during the hot summer months. Kids of any athletic ability are encouraged to apply and the camp will be lead by Griffin Elite staff.

“I even got into it last year because the kids got into it so much,” Von Hoene said.

The Kid’s Camp is priced at $50 per participant per week, while discounts for groups of siblings are provided.

The camp is hosted at the Griffin Elite Sports & Wellness facility at 700 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger. For more information and to register visit www.griffinelite.com
