Wesley Woodyard and Guy Morriss will join an elite class Friday night when both players are inducted into the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame at the Lexington Opera House.

Woodyard, currently a linebacker for the Tennessee Titans, was one of Kentucky’s top defensive players during the Rich Brooks era and was part of two teams that posted back-to-back eight-win seasons in 2006-07. Kentucky defeated Clemson and Florida State in two straight appearances in the Music City Bowl.

Woodyard also is a member of the University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame and has played the past 10 years with the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans. Known as a team leader, Woodyard has served as a team campaign in high school (LaGrange, Georgia), Kentucky, along with the Broncos and Titans.

Morriss coached the Wildcats during a probation period from 2001-02 and went 7-5 in his last season at the helm before leaving for Baylor. Morriss played college football at Texas Christian and was an offensive lineman for 15 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots. He played in more than 200 games in his professional career and started for the Eagles in Super Bowl XV.

Following his stint at Baylor, Morriss was an assistant coach at Kentucky State in 2008 before serving as head coach at Texas A&M Commerce from 2009-12. He also was offensive line coach at Warren Central in 2014 and coached in the same capacity at Lexington Catholic in 2015.

Tommy Bell, a former official in the NFL (1962-76) also will be inducted in the ceremony set for 7 p.m. Friday. Bell is the only official who has officiated the Super Bowl and the Final Four. He has served on the UK Board of Trustees and the school’s athletics board.
