A Bluegrass music concert series is coming to Northern Kentucky this summer at Taylor Creek Park, the new riverfront park on the Ohio River that straddles the boundary between the cities of Bellevue and Newport.
The free concert series – known as “Kentucky Bluegrass on the Ohio River” – will be held once each month during June, July, and August from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The first concert will be June 25, with other two concerts on July 30 and Aug. 27.
The City of Bellevue, the City of Newport, and Southbank Partners, the community and economic development organization for Northern Kentucky’s six river cities, are presenting the concerts this summer.

The Bluegrass bands scheduled to play during the concert series are:
• June 25: Ma Crow & Company
• July 30: Steve Bonafel & One Iota
• August 27: Hickory Robot
The concerts will showcase Taylor Creek Park — the new park along Riverfront Commons, located between Joe’s Crab Shack and The Chart House on Riverboat Row — which was completed last year.
The $3.8 million park was a joint project of SD1, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Southbank Partners, Duke Energy, Bellevue, and Newport. The project stabilized the riverfront in that area, which had severe erosion issues caused by storm-water runoff from I-471 and other roads and paved areas in the Campbell County watershed.
“Taylor Creek Park is a shining jewel on the belt of Riverfront Commons, and with its panoramic view of the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati, it is the perfect location for a summertime concert series,” said Jack Moreland, president of Southbank Partners.
“Southbank Partners is proud to join the cities of Bellevue and Newport in presenting this free concert series to the public, which we hope will continue in years to come at this location along with other future public and private events.”
People attending the concert are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the venue.
