Peyton Burdick homered and drove in five runs on Friday as Wright State posted a 13-6 victory against visiting Northern Kentucky University.

J.D. Orr and Bentley Jones scored three runs apiece for Wright State, which took advantage of four NKU errors to plate seven unearned runs. The Raiders used a six-run outburst in the seventh inning to seal the victory and improved to 35-15 overall, 21-6 in the Horizon league.

Burdick hammered a three-run homer to highlight Wright State’s seventh-inning eruption. The Raiders, who opened the three-game series Thursday with a 12-0 win over the Norse, finished with 10 hits on Friday.

Wright State has already clinched the Horizon League’s regular-season championship.

Griffin Doersching went 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead NKU, which dropped to 14-37 overall, 9-20 in the Horizon League. Will Haueter was 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Norse, who have lost five in a row.

Haueter now has 20 multi-hit games this season, and he has reached base in 30 straight contests.

NKU closes out the three-game series against Wright State on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Nischwitz Stadium.
