The Thomas More College baseball team will meet host Webster University in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Thursday at GCS Credit Union Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois.
Thomas More (24-18 overall record) is the eighth seed in the Central Regional, while Webster (36-8) is the top seed. The Gorlocks are also ranked No. 7 nationally in the NCAA Division III poll.
The Thomas More/Webster game is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m. (Central time), following the Rhodes vs. Franklin contest that opens the regional tournament at 10 a.m.
Thomas More is making its eighth appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, and sixth in the last nine years. The Saints captured the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Tournament title to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Webster is making its 12th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament in the past 13 years. The Gorlocks won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship last weekend.
In addition, Webster has won 22 of its last 23 games.
