Sen. Schickel offering his sixth ‘adult field trip’ to Frankfort June 22, space limited to 45

Sen. John Schickel is again offering an “adult field trip” to Frankfort.

“Our adult field trips to Frankfort have become some of our most popular events for Boone County residents,” Schickel said. “This idea came to me after participating in many grade school field trips in which the adults seemed more interested than the children.

“This sixth adult field trip promises to be the best ever.”

Sen. John Schickel

Those interested will meet at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 22, in the parking lot in front of the old Kroger store on U.S. 42 in Union.

“We will travel to Frankfort, where we will tour the Old Governor’s Mansion, meet with Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton, tour the State Capitol, meet with Senate President Robert Stivers, and then have lunch on the Capitol grounds,” Schickel said. “We will also visit the Supreme Court of Kentucky and Justice Michelle Keller.”

In the afternoon, we will visit the Old State Capitol, which is full of Kentucky history. We will be back home in Boone County by 5 p.m., in plenty of time for supper.

The trip is completely free of charge but is limited to only 45 people.

To go, please let Kathy Lewis know as soon as possible. You can e-mail your RSVP to her at Kathy.Lewis@LRC.KY.GOV, or call her at 502-564-8100 ext. 778.

Senator John Schickel (R-Union) represents the 11th District in Boone County.
