Robert Hoffer honored with Pioneer Award presented by the Kenton Fiscal Court for servant leadership


At its Fiscal Court meeting this week, Kenton County recognized one of the 2018 Pioneer Award honorees. Robert Hoffer has presented a proclamation for his outstanding community leadership.

Hoffer has led numerous community organizations during his career, including, but not limited to, serving as Chair of the St. Elizabeth Foundation, Trustee for St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Chair at Notre Dame Academy, Board Member for Northern Kentucky Tri-Ed, Board Member for the Housing Authority of Northern Kentucky, Advisory Board Member for the Sisters of Divine Providence, Member of the Diocesan Pro-Life Commission, President and Board Member of Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home, Co-Chair of the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home Foundation, Member of Blessed Sacrament Church Pastoral Counsel, Board Member of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, Member of the Carmel Manor Board of Directors and Council Ethics Committee, Vice-President of Leadership Northern Kentucky 2007, Member and President of the Kentucky Defense Counsel, Member of the Northern Kentucky International Trade Association, and Team Leader for the Jamaican Mission Trip.

He lives in Ft. Mitchell with his wife, Diane. Together, they have four children and three grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Hoffer is a graduate of Xavier University and Chase College of Law, and currently leads the DBL Law Firm’s employment law division.

Established in 2017, the Kenton County Pioneer Award honors living residents of Kenton County who have a record of outstanding service to the community and exemplify the highest standards of personal integrity.

The Pioneer Award honors those who demonstrate servant leadership combined with an awareness of the needs of fellow residents.

A committee, composed of the members of the Kenton County Ethics Commission, reviewed the nominations, identified five deserving individuals, and forwarded their names to the Kenton County Fiscal Court for consideration and approval. The 2018 Pioneer Award recipients are Ralph Drees, Mer Grayson, Robert Hoffer, Kim Kitchen, and Ed Schroeder. They also recommended special recognition for Parker Willman as a “Young Pioneer.”
