Realtors group volunteers to work on Housing Opportunities house for family’s affordable housing

A group from Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors armed with shovels, paintbrushes, rollers and other tools volunteered at Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky to help a family have a home.

They worked at two locations in Covington, prepping for paint, painting, staining a fence and doing landscaping.

REALTORS® from multiple Brokerage Affiliate members worked hand-in-hand to help build hope in the American dream of home-ownership.

“As REALTORS® our mission has always been and will continue to be to help our clients acquire safe and affordable housing,” said Jeanie McKinley, president of Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors.

The Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors has been volunteering for HONK for many years, since the mission statement of both HONK and NKAR run parallel.  Both strive to help families throughout our community improve their lives and build their futures through home-ownership.

Some of the social benefits of homeownership that go beyond the financial are educational achievement, civic participation, health benefits, decrease in crime, property maintenance and improvements.

Since 1992 Housing Opportunities of Northern Kentucky (HONK), has been dedicated to providing deserving low-to-moderate income families in Northern Kentucky with affordable housing, helping them to realize the American dream of home-ownership.

Through the commitment of a caring staff and compassionate group of volunteers, HONK continues to help families throughout our community to improve their lives and build their futures through home-ownership.
