Renaissance Covington announces Bridge Folk Music & Art Festival, a one-day, free event on June 16, in Covington from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The event takes place on the banks of the Ohio river at Piazza Rivercenter, an outdoor dining and entertainment area in Covington.

The Event will feature live music with 10 local, national and international music acts in genres spanning from Folk to Jazz to Funk: The lineup includes:  Krystal Peterson & The Queen CIty Band, Miles Over Mountain, CATL, Randall Conrad Olinger, Woodblind, Common Center, Jess Lamb & The Factory, Trevor Clark Trio Holler Blend, and John Till.

Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to relax with their families and enjoy the music.

Renaissance Covington is a small nonprofit aimed at revitalizing Covington’s historic downtown through creative placemaking, special events, community programming, and business support.

The restaurants of Piazza Rivercenter will be vending all manner of local food options. Additionally West Sixth Brewing, Chrisman Mill Winery, and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Molly Wellman will host a bourbon tasting at Bridge Folk (provided photos).

The newly launched B-Line  will feature Moonshine Cocktails from the Neeley Family Distillery. Also, local Bourbon expert, Molly Wellmann will be hosting a guided bourbon tasting with New Riff’s OKI 12-Year Barrel pick (this is a limited ticketed tasting of 4 sessions between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.  For more information and tickets, click HERE).

Local artists and artisan vendors will be selling their wares, along with a full day of family-friendly programming. The event is intended to be interactive and a learning experience for all involved, especially children. To wit, the organizers of Bridge Folk have worked to curate a full day of family-friendly programming.  Organizers Ryan Hill and Chris Green each have young children, and were frustrated by the lack of music festivals that they could share with their kids.

“I often travel outside the area to take my girls to family-friendly music festivals, where there are activities for the kids in addition to the music. I had this concept for something similar here and found a business partner in Chris and we created Bridge Folk.”
said Hill.
