Northern Kentucky University

Northern Kentucky University will graduate nearly 1,650 students in the Spring Commencement ceremonies on May 4 and 6. NKU holds three commencement ceremonies to honor the graduates from the university’s six colleges.

Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m.: Chase College of Law

· Number of graduates: 136
· Speaker: Judge Amul R. Thapar, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit
· Student Speaker: Michael Bromell, Student Bar Association President
· Salmon P. Chase Award Recipient: Jedidah Morrell

Sunday, May 6 at 11 a.m.: Haile/US Bank College of Business, College of Health Professions and College of Informatics

· Number of graduates: COB – 245; CHP – 170; COI – 275
· Speaker: C. Bruce Johnson ’73
· Honorary Degree Recipients: Ellen Rieveschl, Doctor of Education and Gerard St. Amand, Doctor of Education
· Student Speaker: Catherine Schwegman, representing the College of Informatics and the College of Arts and Sciences

Sunday, May 6 at 4 p.m.: College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and Human Services

· Number of graduates: CAS – 557; COEHS – 265
· Speaker and Honorary Degree Recipient: C. Bruce Johnson ’73, Doctor of Letters

· Honorary Degree Recipient: Alice Sparks, Doctor of Education
· Student Speaker: MacKenzie Boyd, representing the College of Arts and Sciences

All ceremonies will be held at BB&T Arena on NKU’s Highland Heights campus. No tickets are required, and doors will open one hour prior to each ceremony. Parking is free of charge, and complimentary shuttle service will be provided from Lots E and L.

Gateway Community & Technical College

The 16 colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) will honor nearly 15,000 candidates, potentially receiving more than 31,000* credentials, at graduation this spring. In addition to the spring graduates, many commencement exercises also will recognize students who have graduated since the May 2017 commencement. Many will earn more than one degree, diploma or certificate; some are high school students who have earned a high school diploma and an associate degree simultaneously.
