Joshua Jasper, assistant project manager with EGC Construction, has been named winner of the 2017 AstraZeneca Global Engineering Award for Safety, Health & Environment.

The 2017 award winners were announced at the annual dinner recently in Washington, D.C.
The award honors those who have shown a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.
Jasper attended Holy Cross High School in Covington, was captain of the football team and named MVP in the Northern Kentucky Border Bowl All-Star Game before attending Thomas Moore College.
Jasper is a certified welder, ironworker and millwright. He worked as an ironworker and rodbuster for the AstraZeneca West Chester, Ohio project in 2017.
In recognizing Jasper, AstraZeneca indicated he went beyond his duties to guarantee everyone made it through each day safely. He also identified vulnerabilities and offered safe solutions to complete each task and Jasper’s acute awareness ensured the safe completion of this assignment.
“Keeping everyone safe is job number one. Construction is a rewarding career I would recommend to any young man or woman,” Jasper said. “At the end of each day, I can see my contribution to my community in the commercial and industrial properties I helped build.”
Located in Newport, EGC Construction is a privately-owned company that has continuously operated since December 1978. Services include building design and construction, equipment installation and rigging, environmental and energy services and residential services.
