“This actually wasn’t the bottle we planned to release in May but when we tapped this beer on draft, everyone loved it,” said Evan Rouse, Braxton Brewing Company Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer. “That’s what we love about Braxton Labs. It allows us to experiment with new products and when we find one our customers really enjoy, the schedule and equipment are nimble enough to scale it up quickly!”

Braxton Labs first tapped its Strawberry Gose in April. It’s been one of the brewery’s most popular draft offerings to date. The imperial-style, kettle-soured Gose clocks in at 6.5% ABV and gets Mediterranean Sea Salt and whole coriander in the boil to create a slick and citrusy profile. After primary fermentation, the brewery added 1.3 lbs/gallon of strawberry pureé to create a fruity gose perfect for spring.

Open since May of 2018, Braxton Labs is Braxton Brewing Company’s second brewing facility. The Covington-based company uses the Newport brewery and taproom as its place to experiment and innovate.

This is the first packaged gose that Braxton Labs or Braxton Brewing Company has released.

“Braxton Labs allows us to not just experiment with new styles, but put our own twist on some classics,” said Zac Boehnke, Braxton Brewing Company Lead Innovation Brewer. “The Strawberry Gose is a delicate and intriguing use of a fresh, seasonal fruit in an amped up traditional, German-style gose. After tasting the initial small batch, we were definitely excited to ramp this one up a bit so we can enjoy it all summer.”
