Big party coming to Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home May 18th; Fort Mitchell seeks volunteers

The biggest party in the area to kick-off summer will be held on Friday, May 18th, from 6-10:30 p.m., at the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home (DCCH) grounds located at 75 Orphanage Road.

This family-friendly event will have activities and entertainment for all age groups along with food and drinks available for purchase.

“We are excited to host this first of its kind event which celebrates Fort. Mitchell. This event will support two great causes while highlighting small businesses of Northern Kentucky.” said Mayor Jude Hehman. The rain date for the event is May 19th.

This event is made possible due to the generous donations of many businesses. Main sponsors include Bunches of Bows, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Huntington Bank and Saddle Club.

“We moved our business here to be an integral part of this community and this event reflects the business community’s commitment to the City,” said Traci Alexander, Owner, Bunches of Bows.

Food will be offered by Greyhound Tavern, Blue Grass Quality Meats, Little Flour Baked Goods, Colonial Cottage, Holy Donuts, Papa Johns and Rollin’ Bowls. Drinks will be sold by Saddle Club and Bircus Brewing Company.

Over 3000 people are expected to attend the event at which The Naked Karate Girls, a family friendly band, will be performing. Other entertainment includes kids games, inflatables, and raffles. The event’s proceeds will be donated to local community non- profits including Live Well Fort Mitchell and DCCH.

The City is looking for volunteers to assist with the event. Sign up to volunteer and stay posted through the City of Fort Mitchell’s Facebook page
