Thomas More College has been extended an invitation to join the NAIA and the Mid-South Conference, beginning with the 2019-20 academic year.

Thomas More will compete as an NCAA Division III independent during the 2018-19 academic year and will explore its options, which includes the NAIA, for 2019-20. Thomas More will be making a decision concerning the athletic membership for the 2019-20 campaign in the coming months.

Thomas More was a member of the NAIA until 1990, when it joined NCAA Division III.

“On behalf of Thomas More College, we are excited and appreciate the NAIA and the Mid-South for extending these invitations to their highly competitive association and conference,” said Terry Connor, Thomas More’s director of athletics.

The NAIA is a national collegiate athletic association of more than 250 colleges. The Mid-South Conference includes eight full members that are located in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Georgia.

Members of the Mid-South include Georgetown (Ky.), Campbellsville, Lindsey Wilson, Pikeville, University of the Cumberlands, Life (Ga.), Cumberland (Tenn.) and Shawnee State.
