CVG offering travelers a showcase of area’s diverse arts and culture via ‘ArtsWave Previews’ through May

“ArtsWave Presents” at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will begin tomorrow.

The program targets tourists and other travelers, bringing free arts and entertainment into the airport twice a month, leveraging the region’s extensive and diverse array of arts and culture.

The partnership between CVG and ArtsWave, the nonprofit planner, promoter, and fundraiser of the region’s arts, began in 2014. The program is designed to showcase local arts organizations and performers throughout the region. It has evolved to focus on peak travel times, and this year, will be expanded to offer more performances to greet and send off passengers. Performances have included Queen City Opera, The Millennium Robots, Pones Inc., Bacchanal Steel Band, the Cincinnati Ballet, and Madcap Puppets to name a few.

Upcoming performances are scheduled for the following. (CVG will release future dates and times)

· 2-3 PM: Friday, March 16: Northern Kentucky University Philharmonic
· 2-3 PM: Friday, March 30: James McCray Choral Ensemble
· Fridays: April 6; April 20; May 4; May 25

“Our partnership with ArtsWave gives local artists an interesting venue and captive audience, while allowing us to deliver on our mission to provide passengers an unforgettably positive experience,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG.

“We’re excited to greet tourists upon their arrival with one of Cincinnati’s greatest assets, its amazing arts,” said Alecia Kintner, president, ArtsWave.
