#ChiliDifferently: Gold Star is offering — for the first time — a Cincinnati-style Vegetarian Chili during Lent

Gold Star Chili is excited to offer a deliciously different meatless option this Lent – the first ever Cincinnati-style Vegetarian Chili. Available in all area restaurants, it looks and tastes like Gold Star Chili’s original family recipe, but without the meat.

“Gold Star’s ‘no meat’ chili is perfect for vegetarians, vegans or anyone looking for a meat-free meal,” said James Wang, Gold Star Chili’s Development Chef. “Made from vegetable protein, it is gluten free, soy free and full of chili goodness. It has the same look and texture as Gold Star’s original recipe chili and includes Gold Star’s secret blend of 13 spices to create an authentic Cincinnati-style chili flavor.”

Whether you like your chili on a 3, 4 or 5-Way, the new vegetarian chili is a delicious option for vegetarians and those looking for meatless options both during the Lenten season and beyond. It can also be enjoyed on all chili menu items including the Chili Cheese Sandwich, Chili Cheese Fries, Chili Salad and the Gold Star Gorito.

“Gold Star has long been a menu innovator in Cincinnati chili, so creating the first Cincinnati-style Vegetarian Chili last year made perfect sense for us,” said Roger David, CEO of Gold Star Chili. “It was important that we create a Vegetarian Chili that is so good, our customers can’t tell the difference. We worked hard to get it right, and now it’s a favorite of vegetarians and those who want to continue to enjoy a Cincinnati classic, without the meat.”

Gold Star Vegetarian Chili is available in all Gold Star restaurants year-round. Gold Star Chili encourages customers to use #ChiliDifferently to share their experiences with Gold Star’s Vegetarian Chili on social media.
