Campbell County Public Library calendar of events for March includes wide range of events, activities


A list of events and programs at the Campbell County Public Library branches is provided here.

The Campbell County Public Library operates four branches. The Cold Spring Branch is located at 3920 Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring, phone 859-781-6166. The Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch is located at 1000 Highland Ave. in Fort Thomas, phone 859-572-5033. The Newport Branch is located at 901 E. Sixth St. in Newport, phone 859-572-5035. The Alexandria Branch is located at 8830 Alexandria Pike in Alexandria, phone 859-572-7463.

There are two Express locations for pickups and returns in Silver Grove and Melbourne.

Hours for Cold Spring, Carrico/Fort Thomas and Newport branches are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Hours for Alexandria are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday; 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and closed Sunday and Monday. The Web site address is www.cc-pl.org.

R.A.D. Systems Women’s Basic Self-Defense

The Cold Spring Police Department is presenting R.A.D. Systems Women’s Basic Self-Defense course. This 12-hour course is free to all young women from 13 & up. The objective of this course is to develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked. City Barbeque Food for Thought Series

Dr. Robert Wilcox from the NKU History and Geography Department discusses the history of Mexican immigration to the US. While the political debates largely have focused on undocumented immigrants, the history involves many contradictions, including officially sponsored immigration from Mexico and illegal American immigration to Mexico. This talk will address some of these historical complexities. Food will be supplied by Highland Heights City Barbeque. Ages 16 & up. Register early as spots are limited.

Signature Series: Letters from Vietnam

Falcon Takes Flight, a wing of Falcon Theatre, presents the voices of men and women who fought, and in some cases fell, in America’s most controversial war. Using letters penned by soldiers, nurses & volunteers, the late Bill Adler compiled, edited and created a book, Letters from Vietnam. It is from these letters that Falcon hopes to capture timeless expressions of hope, horror, fear & faith. Music of the era, performed by Raison D’Etre, will be featured to support the Readers Theatre presentation. The performance is directed by Clint Ibele. Ages 18 & up.
