Update: Victims identified in Tuesday’s accident in Cold Spring that killed five, including two children

Those killed in yesterday’s accident in Cold Spring have been identified.

Cold Spring Police say Brandon Lawson, 23, was driving a silver Toyota Corolla, when he crossed the center line and struck a gold Ford Taurus.

Lawson, and the passengers in his vehicle, Taylor Koch 22, and their children, Brendan Lawson, 21 months and Isabella Lawson, six months were all killed.

Sharon Groves, a passenger in the Taurus was also killed and the vehicle’s driver, Russell Groves, was transported by a medical helicopter to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.

His condition is unknown.

The accident is still under investigation by the Campbell County Accident Reconstruction Unit and Cold Spring Police. Anyone with information on the accident, who has not already spoken with police, is asked to call (859) 441-6289.

A two-vehicle accident on Alexandria Pike in Cold Spring late Tuesday afternoon claimed the lives of five people, including two juveniles. The male driver of one of the vehicles has been transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Cold Spring Police say the accident occurred just north of Low Gap Road.

The names of the victims are being withheld, pending the identification of next-of-kin, and no further information is available at this time.

The Cold Spring Police Department issued the following statement:

On February 6 at 4:35 p.m. a traffic collision occurred just north of the intersection of Alexandria Pike (US 27) and Low Gap Road.

A silver sedan containing two adults and two juveniles traveling northbound crossed the center median and struck a gold sedan containing two adults, traveling southbound.

All four parties in the silver sedan and a female passenger in the gold sedan were killed in the collision. The male driver of the gold sedan was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The names of all parties are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
