The Gleaner: Covington man charged with murder of Henderson woman; she was shot multiple times

The Gleaner in Henderson is reporting that police have charged a Covington man with the murder of a woman he allegedly shot several times.

Anthony Watts

Anthony Watts, 30, is currently lodged at the Kenton County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond, awaiting extradition, according to Henderson Police Officer Jennifer Richmond, public information officer, according to The Gleaner.

He is accused of killing Angela Parker, 29.

Henderson Police Detective Jake Isonhood said during an autopsy held Tuesday, a medical examiner ruled the cause of death to be a homicide. He said Parker was shot several times in the head and the arms.

Richmond said officers responded to a report of a shooting at 893B Honeylark Lane Monday and found Angela Parker dead.

Parker had allegedly been in a dispute with Watts at roughly 3 a.m. Monday when Watts shot Parker. Details regarding the nature of the argument still are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation, authorities said.

“Anthony Watts immediately left the residence and returned to Covington, Kentucky, where he resides,” Richmond said.  Watts was located by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and was taken into custody by the Covington Police Department.

Isonhood, the lead investigator on the case, then drove to Covington to interview Watts. Watts refused to give a statement after requesting an attorney, according to a news release.
