Camp Carnegie is back for another summer of theatre, art, and education.
This year, students will explore a character’s transformation as they navigate life through another’s perspective. They will learn how these new perspectives affect their character’s choices during Camp Carnegie: The Other Side.
Open to children ages 7-12, Camp Carnegie: The Other Side offers students the chance to develop characters, devise plot lines, and share their stories of acceptance live on stage.
This year, The Carnegie is offering four half-day camps at The Carnegie’s Eva G. Farris Education Center, as well as two half-day camps at the Lincoln Grant Scholar House Auditorium, located two blocks from The Carnegie.
Due to its popularity last year, The Carnegie will again offer full-day camps, expanding them to four weeks. These will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Over the course of the workshops, children will have fun exploring the world of theatre through hands-on art making, character and costume design, dramatic exercises, script writing, problem solving and more. All Camp Carnegie: The Other Side theatre workshops will conclude with a live performance on stage for friends and family.
Ten Camp Carnegie: The Other Side workshops will be offered from June through August:
