Turfway Park throws back to the 70s for Hustle into 2018 New Year’s Eve party, featuring live music, DJ

Turfway Park will welcome 2018 at its annual New Year’s Eve party by paying tribute to the iconic fashion and music of the 1970s. Themed Hustle into 2018, the Dec. 31 party offers live Thoroughbred racing, a free concert, free admission and free parking. Dinner reservations and valet parking are also available.

Live racing starts the party, with the first of eight races set to run at 6:15 p.m. DJ Jonathan Klein cues the music at 8 p.m. and ‘70s party band Gee Your Band Smells Terrific takes the stage at 9 p.m.

“When people think ‘fun,’ we want their next thought to be ‘Turfway Park,’” said General Manager Daniel ’Chip’ Bach. “We’re all about having fun here. We like to offer a lot of options so everyone can have a great time. This year we’re really encouraging people to get into the theme by dressing up—think Saturday Night Fever and that fashion classic, the leisure suit. Of course a New Year’s Eve party here is always unique in this area, because we offer the fun of live racing. You don’t have to be an expert to cheer on your picks, and our team is ready to help those who want to learn more.”

New Year’s Eve reservations with dinner buffet and unlimited beer, call drinks and soft drinks are available in the Homestretch restaurant, trackside on the first floor, and the Racing Club, with its panoramic view from the fifth floor. Those reservations, $85 and $95 per person, also include a champagne toast at midnight, party favors and access to the Disco Den, a specially decorated area on the third floor that overlooks the track and stage.

Reservations to the Disco Den are available separately as well for $65 per person. The Disco Den, a cocktail party, mix-and-mingle area, opens at 8 p.m. Each Disco Den ticket includes appetizers, unlimited beer, call drinks and soft drinks, a champagne toast and party favors; a $25 Disco Den ticket is available for designated drivers.

Those with access to the Disco Den may also elect to reserve tables for six in that area for an additional $100 per table. Tables for six outside the Disco Den area, also priced at $100 per table, are available as well. All such tables line the mezzanine rail on the third floor and overlook the track and stage.

The Homestretch, Racing Club, third floor and second-floor grandstand and stage area are smoke free. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas of the first and second floors.

Reservations may be made by calling (859) 371-0200 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Callers who leave messages at other times will be contacted when the switchboard reopens.

Both the Hampton Inn Cincinnati Airport South and the Hilton Cincinnati Airport are offering special packages for Turfway Park party-goers, including free shuttle and breakfast on New Year’s Day.

More information about New Year’s Eve reservations, menus, hotels and schedules is available at www.turfway.com.

Live racing continues New Year’s Day with a special post time of 1:10 p.m., the start of Turfway’s winter/spring meet that runs through March 31.
