Turfway Park selections for Friday

Turfway Park’s Mike Battaglia provides daily selections and comments for the Tribune during the live racing meets.

Selections for Friday, Dec. 8

RACE 1
I MISS YOU didn’t show much last out at Churchill but drops to the bottom and gets blinkers tonight. She figures to win this one with Sarvis back aboard for Matt Hebert. PAMPERED VOW exits the same race as the top pick. She stopped badly in that one but has decent races against better on turf and may like the move to the Poly. WILLBURNHOT has solid form at this level.

RACE 2
MISS FRANK E moves back to the Turfway Poly, where she has won three of her five races. She gets in light with Shelbi Kurtz and rates the edge in this one. MISS VENEZUELA drops in class and has the speed to make the lead. She figures to be tough to catch. BRAZYN APPEAL is a contender.

RACE 3
SPEARETTE is one of four runners who exit a better race at Churchill last out. She shouldn’t mind the switch to the Poly and gets the nod with Rogelio Miranda picking up the mount for Vicki Oliver. KICKIN GRASS beat the top pick and figures to be running at the end. TAMARACK is still winless after 36 starts but could figure in the gimmicks.

RACE 4
POP SINGER has been off since May and takes the big drop for her return. She shows only one work but it was a good one and she hooks a fairly weak bunch. REGAL HEIRESS has been in the money in six of her ten races this year and is the one to beat. EMOTIONAL LOVE fits with these.

RACE 5
CASH DANCE comes off of a decent effort at Churchill and owns two wins over the Turfway surface. Give her the edge in this bottom claimer. BYE BYE BUNTING has been off for two months but is capable of a decent effort at nice odds. EXTOL comes off of a game win and has the speed to be dangerous.

RACE 6
CHASING THE BUCK drops in class and has the speed to be on or near the lead from her inside post. She appears to be in a good spot to win this one with Ouzts aboard for Bill Denzik. LOVE THE POWER also has good early speed. She broke her maiden over this track back in February and is definitely the one to beat. ONE SHARP LADY
rates a chance.

RACE 7
TRILBY was in contention from her inside post in her debut but faltered in the stretch behind an impressive winner.  She figures to move forward off of that one and is capable of winning with Sarvis picking up the mount for Brian Michael. SHE STAYS ROLLIN has been hammered at the windows in both of her races but stopped badly after flashing good early speed. She has been off since May but Wes Ward is good with returning runners and has to be respected. DATA STAR exits the same race as the top pick  She pressed the pace in that one and also figures to improve.

RACE 8
CARIBOU CAT has won two of his four races for Dane Kobiske. He figures to get a good trip from the inside with Sarvis aboard and appears to be in a good spot to pick up the win. CHRISTOPHER K comes off of a win at Belterra but was disqualified from the purse in that one. He broke his maiden over this track and is the one to beat. DISCREETLY FIRM ran poorly last out but is capable of better.
