Mental Health America to host its annual Christmas dinner at NKY Convention Center for 2,000 needy


For the 30th year, Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio will once again host its annual Christmas dinner at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on Monday from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

More than 400 volunteers will serve a holiday dinner to more than 2,000 needy families and individuals in the community. 

Children will visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and receive toys, while children and adults will receive coats, blankets, scarves, groceries, personal care items, vegetables, and more.
 
Major sponsors and contributors are: The Northern Convention Center; The Mental Health Association of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio; Remke Markets; Masterpiece Creations; Ironworkers Local 44; McHales Events and Catering; Kenton County Fiscal Court;  Toys for Tots; Busken Bakery; Sunday Morning Club; Master Provisions; PetSmart; Scarf It Up; and The Isaac M. Wise Temple.

 

The schedule:

• 7:30 a.m. Event organizers begin preparing for the dinner; members of Greater Cincinnati’s Jewish community assist in wrapping toys and presents for the children.

• 10 a.m.  Doors open to the public.

• 11 a.m.  Volunteers begin serving meals; children visit Santa to sit on his lap and receive a toy.

• Remainder of day. Families and individuals eat dinner, meet Santa and receive toys and personal care items including blankets.
