Northern Kentucky University names Dr. Ande Durojaiye as Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs. He will assume the position in February 2018.
Dr. Durojaiye currently serves as director of institutional equity at Michigan State University and chair of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Equity/Affirmative Action Committee. In his position, he has worked extensively with students and faculty around issues of inclusive excellence and Title IX compliance.

Dr. Durojaiye earned a Doctorate of Higher Education Leadership from Vanderbilt University in 2017 and also holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. His research has focused on effective methods to improve undergraduate education and student persistence. Out of that research came best practices for academic advising, faculty student interactions, and early alert systems to promote student success. Through qualitative and quantitative research, Dr. Durojaiye explored practices and procedures specific to an institution serving a largely commuter population.
“During the search process, Ande’s grasp of issues in higher education, particularly at universities like ours, and his focus on the success of students were apparent. We are so pleased that he will bring his leadership and vision to NKU as we move into our next 50 years as an institution,” said Provost Sue Ott Rowlands.
Prior to joining Michigan State, Dr. Durojaiye served as the executive director of equity, inclusion and compliance and Title IX coordinator at Florida Atlantic University where he was tasked with leading all university initiatives related to equity, inclusion and civil rights compliance. He also led and provided broad oversight for activities focused on the retention and graduation of undergraduate and underrepresented minority students, implemented a student-centered philosophy for delivery of programs and services, worked with FAU’s community college partners on transfer and articulation issues, and led aspects of the Academic Orientation Programing Committee.
Dr. Durojaiye previously worked as an attorney with the United States Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR). During that time, he engaged in all aspects of civil rights enforcement including investigating, providing legal guidance, and conducting technical assistance.
