My name is Timola Hall, and I started working at Boone County Public Library in August of 2017 as the Public Service Assistant at Chapin Memorial Library in Petersburg.  In my short time here, I have really enjoyed getting to know all the people and various personalities that make the library a great place to work.

Chapin Memorial Library is a perfect fit for me because I serve as coordinator for the Petersburg Community Center, and I am an Emergency Medical Technician with the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department.  The Library is actually nestled between the Community Center and the Fire Department making it easy to float among the three facilities.  I have lived in Petersburg for 28 years.

I retired from the Internal Revenue Service in July 2013 after working there 37 years and 8 months.  During my time with the IRS, I advanced from a secretary to a program analyst in the computer branch.

I like to bake, boat, and crochet in my spare time.  Last year I made my first quilt by hand, a gift for my great niece who was born weighing only 14 oz. Dubbed as the miracle baby, she just celebrated her 1st birthday in October and is making great strides!  I have 2 brothers, 2 sons, and 2 grandchildren (Cheyenne 10 and Ethan 3).

I am a DIY’er.  Several years ago, I worked side by side with my Dad building a house together.  I lived there until my dad passed.  I then sold the house to move into my dad’s house.  In 2014, I bought and moved into the house across the street from my dad’s house.  Since then, I have completely redone 2 of the bathrooms.  My next projects will be remodeling the third bathroom and then tackling the kitchen.

Anytime you find yourself in Petersburg, stop by and visit me at Chapin Memorial Library.  I absolutely love this town and have so much pride in our community.
