The Kenton County Attorney’s office, in conjunction with the Department of Income Support for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is hosting a Foster Care Coat Drive. From now through December 4, DIS is collecting as many NEW COATS as possible for the 8,500 children in foster care who range in age from newborn to 17 years old, many of whom wear adult sizes.
This DIS effort will include the Louisville and Frankfort DDS offices, along with Child Support Enforcement regional offices.
“We are happy to support this coat drive benefiting our local foster families and children. The winter months are upon us, and this is an excellent way to give and provide warmth for children in our community,” said Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke. “I am proud of my staff for joining the effort to help the Commonwealth reach its goal.”
The statewide goal is 1000 new coats; however, our Regional goal is 50+. In the alternative, monetary donation will be accepted and will be used to purchase new coats.
Donations can be dropped off at the Kenton County Attorney’s office located at 303 Court Street Room 307 Covington, KY 41011. Donations must be received by Monday, December 4th.
