Earning a bachelor’s degree from a private four-year university in Cincinnati will now be possible for many more local students thanks to an expanded agreement between Gateway Community & Technical College and Mount St. Joseph University.

The expanded agreement will make it much easier for students who complete associate degree programs to seamlessly apply their credit hours toward earning a bachelor’s degree at the Mount.

Students will have the potential to save up to $44,000 while completing their bachelor’s degree at Mount St. Joseph University. In addition, students may be eligible for as much as $10,000 a year in special transfer scholarships from the Mount.

Gateway President Fernando Figueroa and Mount St. Joseph University President H. James Williams will officially sign the two-year renewable agreement on Tuesday at 10 a.m., at Gateway’s Urban Metro Campus in Covington.

“We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Mount St. Joseph University. This strengthens student pathways and offers them limitless possibilities,” said Dr. Figueroa, Gateway President. “We share the privilege of serving students and our communities. We serve them best when we partner.”

The bachelor degrees included in the expanded agreement are: business, criminology, health & wellness, natural sciences, and social work. Students who transfer from Gateway to Mount St. Joseph University can also take advantage of 3+ dual degree programs. These include the Mount’s 4+1 MBA, master’s degree in nursing, and doctorate of physical therapy.
