Cincinnati Museum Center making travel more fun this holiday with free science programming at CVG

Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) is making travel a little less painful this holiday season. As family members travel to and from Cincinnati over the Thanksgiving holiday, CMC staff is bringing interactive science and art activities to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

CMC is creating more curiosity November 22 and 26 at CVG, providing travelers an opportunity to learn, do and explore. People can explore animal science though jaw bones and teeth or look to the stars to learn more about the planets, stars, comets and more orbiting overhead. They can also discover the mad science behind electric dough, using Play-Doh to help power a lightbulb. Programs run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Over the past year and a half, over 90 objects from CMC’s collections have been welcoming passengers to CVG and bidding them farewell on safe journeys as part of Curate My Community. These objects include fan favorites like the mastodon that previously greeted guests at the entrance to the Museum of Natural History & Science and a replica Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 spacesuit. A collection of Ice Age skeletons like saber-toothed tigers and giant ground sloths, historic cars dating as far back at 1910 and a 1940 Aeronca Defender airplane further add an element of historical and scientific flair to passengers’ travels.

CMC’s activities over November 22 and 26 are free and travelers can pop in and out at their convenience. The programs will occur from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
