“I’m in my 30th year in education, and I’m hard to impress,” said Newport Superintendent Kelly Middleton. “But I’ve seen Ron Clark’s presentation, and to this day I’ve never seen anything quite like it. People come out of it completely fired up and motivated. So I’m having every single member of our staff – from administrators to bus drivers – attend so they can be as inspired by Ron Clark as I have been.”

Known as “America’s Educator”, Ron Clark was named Disney’s American Teacher of the year in 2000. He is a New York Times bestselling author of The Essential 55, which has sold more than 1 million copies and has been published in 24 countries.

“Ron Clark is one of the best speakers you will ever hear,” said Middleton, who first met and heard Clark speak while working as an administrator in the Mason County School District, “and his message fits right into our consolidated plan to improve the culture in our schools, so that’s why I want our entire staff to attend.”

He has appeared on The Today Show, CNN, Oprah, has been honored at the White House on three separate occasions and was the subject of the film The Ron Clark Story.
