PNC Bank President Kay Geiger selected for 20th Annual Metropolitan Award to be presented Oct. 24


Kay Geiger will be the honoree at the sold out 20th Annual Metropolitan Award Dinner held at The Metropolitan Club on Tuesday, Oct. 24. 

With the generous support of Event Sponsor Western & Southern Financial and Presenting Sponsors Miami University, North American Properties and Standard Textile, Geiger will be presented the 2017 Metropolitan Award for her significant contributions to unify our region through her leadership and commitment to economic and community development.
 
Geiger serves as PNC Bank’s president for Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky – and across the region — serves on the boards and executive committees for the Kenton County/CVG Airport Board, Northern Kentucky Regional Alliance, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, 3CDC and REDI Cincinnati. She also serves on the boards of the Cincinnati Business Committee, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cintrifuse, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Zoological Society of Cincinnati and CincyTech. Geiger is also a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Cincinnati Business Advisory Committee.

The Metropolitan Club recognizes a Metropolitan Award honoree annually for their contributions to our region which are in unison with the Club’s mission and purpose:  to be “the center for business and community leaders” and facilitate the unification of our region through business, social and philanthropic endeavors.

Lafley, Wayne Carlisle, William Keating, Patricia Corbett, Otto Budig, Jr., Ed and Carole Rigaud, William P. Butler, Joseph Head, Joseph Hayden and Oliver Waddell.
 
The 2017 Metropolitan Award Committee is co-chaired by Patricia Smitson, CEO of the Greater Cincinnati/Dayton Region of the American Red Cross, William P. Butler, Chairman and CEO of Corporex Companies, LLC, Johnna Reeder, President and CEO of REDI Cincinnati and Chuck Scheper, Chairman of Bexion Pharmaceuticals.  Each year, the Committee completes a thorough nomination and selection process to find those individuals worthy of the Award.
 
“We are proud to honor Kay with The Metropolitan Award for her dedication to improving every facet of our community and for her leadership in building strong bridges and alliances among business, the arts and social services in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky,” Smitson said.
 
The Metropolitan Club’s charitable mission is to give a majority of its profits back to the community.  Since 1992, over $1 million has been given to charitable organizations through The Metropolitan Award Dinner and other Club charitable activities. Funds raised from the 2017 Metropolitan Award Dinner will be donated to two local social service agencies that serve community residents in greatest need:  Be Concerned, which operates the largest free food pantry in Northern Kentucky; and Life Learning Center, a Covington non-profit organization that delivers a holistic, integrated continuum of learning and care to help our ‘at-risk’ citizens reach their highest potential.
