Newport’s prescription drug take-back is Saturday, disposal unit is on first floor City Hall


Newport will take part in the 14th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 28.

The National Prescription “Drug Take Back Day” aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medications.

The City of Newport offers a disposal unit on the first floor of the city building Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for unwanted and outdated prescription drugs.  

The unit is provided by the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force.  

The unit cannot accept needles or syringes of any kind, NO liquids and NO vitamins.
