Cancer Support Community Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky hosts Evening of Hope gala

Cancer Support Community Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky (CSC) is hosting its ninth annual Evening of Hope gala on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Former Cincinnati Bengals players will host a VIP reception prior to the main event, including Jim Breech, Joe Kelly, Tim McGee and Eric Thomas. Breech, McGee and Thomas are members of the Bengals First 50, which recognizes the top 50 retired Bengals players as voted by fans and media, and Joe Kelly was the Bengals’ number-one draft pick in 1986, spending 11 years in the NFL.

As CSC’s premier annual fundraising event, the Evening of Hope begins at 6:30 p.m. at The Center (115 East 5th Street, Cincinnati, OH). The gala is a night that will honor nine champions in the areas of cancer care and research. These champions will be awarded at the event, which will feature cocktails, dinner, entertainment and live auction.

Tickets are $150 for the main event, $250 for the VIP reception, and can be purchased online here.

This year’s award nominees, who have inspired in the area of cancer care, include six outstanding oncology professionals in our community: Heidi Bright of Bright Concepts; Dr. Edward Crane of TriHealth; Vicki Estridge of UC Health; Shayna Hamilton of St. Elizabeth; Jim Schwartz of Cancer Family Care; and Mark Witte of TriHealth. Nominees in the area of cancer research include: Brittany Hagen of OHC; Dr. James Maher of TriHealth Cancer Institute; and Dr. Patrick Ward of OHC.

Proceeds from the event will benefit CSC, which offers free programs and services through professionally-led support groups, healthy lifestyle programs, educational workshops, and much more to anyone impacted by cancer. Because CSC is 100 percent funded through philanthropy and the generosity of individuals and companies, this Gala provides support for the thousands of local individuals and families who CSC serves annually.
