Board of Elections’ redesigned website provides important information for upcoming election

The State Board of Elections has a redesigned and streamlined website at its online home, elect.ky.gov, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes announced Thursday.

“The State Board of Elections is focused on providing important information to its constituents, Kentucky’s voters, and the public,” said Grimes, chair of the State Board of Elections. “The redesigned elect.ky.gov allows users to find information and data – from election results to absentee voting to candidate qualifications to statistics – in a quick and convenient format.”

The new website is mobile-friendly, helping Kentuckians find information they need on the go. “People are using their phones or tablets more than ever as their primary way to go online,” said Grimes. “Making sure our constituents can easily reach and view the State Board of Elections site on smartphones or tablets is incredibly important as Kentucky enters the midterm election cycle.”

The new homepage includes links to frequently sought information like registering online to vote, election calendars, and election results. Voters, potential candidates, and researchers visit the State Board of Elections website thousands of times per month. The overhaul is the first in several years.

The State Board of Elections last year launched GoVoteKY.com, a one-stop portal for Kentucky voters, which users and election administrators have given high marks. The updated State Board of Elections website was the next step in providing access to information and data people seek from the agency.

“I’m extremely proud of the level of service our State Board of Elections staff provides,” said Grimes. “The new website translates our staff’s expertise to give the same constituent-oriented experience to online and mobile users. I’m excited for visitors to use and enjoy the redesigned elect.ky.gov.”
