The benevolence of the Greater Cincinnati area doesn’t go unnoticed during times of disaster.

When the call goes out for donations of cash, products, or time, many people step forward with their wallets, hearts, and hands open, all asking the same question “how can I help?” But sometimes, the organizations that work to collect those contributions need a little help too.

The day-to-day operations of a nonprofit are sometimes a struggle because of restrictions on materials and time. Charities are often able to fundraise for the causes they support, but at times, it’s difficult to take care of internal issues. Maybe their roof needs repair or their facilities need updating, but using funds to fix these problems could make it harder to provide necessary services. That’s where BBB Center for Ethics can help.

BBB Center for Ethics has created Gain by Giving, a program designed to connect area Accredited Businesses with local Accredited Charities to help fulfill operational needs. The Center will act as a facilitator, bringing the Accredited Charities and Businesses with similar goals together to fulfill the requests. Interested organizations are encouraged to visit ; that is where charities can list what they need and businesses can post what they have.

Accredited Charities are encouraged to carefully assess what they need to effectively run the organization; this can include physical materials like lumber, paint, or office supplies. Once that has been decided, visit gainbygiving.org and fill out the form detailing what is needed from the Accredited Business community. On the other hand, Accredited Businesses can use the site to post what they have to give.

BBB Center for Ethics will then work to connect the companies that can with the nonprofits that need, creating a community that brings local leaders together.

Be part of a program that works to better local business. Visit gainbygiving.org or contact BBB Center for Ethics for more information.
