NKU men’s basketball team honored with ImageMaker Award from NKy Chamber of Commerce

The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce announced that the Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team is the recipient of the Northern Kentucky ImageMaker Award, sponsored by Duke Energy.

The ImageMaker Award is presented on special occasions to an individual or group or individual whose achievements have brought national or international recognition to the Northern Kentucky region.

“It is both humbling and an honor to receive this recognition from the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce,” said John Brannen, head coach. “This is Northern Kentucky’s team and, I am proud to have a staff and group of student-athletes that promote such a positive image of this region. The support of this community during our Horizon League Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance was incredible and it was a pleasure to share that experience with the community.”

NKU closed the season on an incredible run, which culminated in the program’s first-ever Horizon League Championship in just its second season in the league and first berth into the NCAA Division I Championship. In earning a spot on the 2017 NCAA tourney, the Norse became just the seventh team ever and only the second since 1970 to qualify for the event in their first season eligible.

The NKY Chamber will present the award at its Annual Dinner, Presented by Fifth Third Bank, on Thursday, Sept. 28. Six awards will be presented at the dinner, which will be held Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. A networking cocktail reception begins at 5 p.m., with the dinner and awards program beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $95 and a table of ten is $950. To register for the event, visit www.nkychamber.com/events.
