Bicyclist struck and killed in Hebron Saturday identified; police still searching for info, next of kin

The Boone County Sheriff’s office has released the name of the Hebron man struck and killed Saturday while riding his bicycle near the intersection of North Bend Road and Northside Drive.

Allen Williams, 48, was originally identified as being from Covington, but investigators have since confirmed that he lived in Hebron.

The Sheriff’s office has made contact with a significant other, but have yet to locate the next-of-kin. Anyone that can aid the Sheriff’s department with locating a family member, or who has information concerning the incident, is asked to contact the Boone County Sheriff’s office at 859-334-2175.

On Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 6:47 a.m. Boone County Sheriff Deputies were notified by a passing motorist of an injured male found lying in a grassy area adjacent to the intersection of North Bend Road (KY 237) and Northside Drive in Hebron, Kentucky.  Responding Deputies arrived a short time later and confirmed the male was in fact deceased.  Investigation quickly revealed the deceased male had been struck from the rear while riding his bicycle northbound on North Bend Road just prior to Northside Drive. 

The name of the deceased is being withheld for release at this time due to pending notification of next of kin.  The deceased is described as a 48 year old black male from Covington, Kentucky.

At this time the investigation is being classified as a fatal hit and run due to the hit vehicle not stopping nor reporting the incident.  Anyone with information or potential witnesses is being asked to contact Lt. Chris Hall or Deputy Mike Parsons of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit at 859-334-2175.
