NKU’s Nurse Anesthesia Program to hold open house on July 24; come visit or watch on webinar

Northern Kentucky University will host an open house to showcase its Nurse Anesthesia Program (NAP) on July 24.

The event will provide information on the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) nurse anesthesia specialization program that the university launched in May. Faculty will share an overview of the program and the admission process with a question and answer period that includes current students enrolled in the program. The open house will also be shared as a webinar for those who not able to attend in person.

NAP Class

“We want to encourage anyone who has thought about advancing their nursing profession to join us,” said Dr. William Terry Ray, NAP Director.

“It will be a great opportunity to answer questions and talk about the benefits of earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice nurse anesthesia specialization. This session will be most beneficial for those who are recent BSN graduates and current traditional BSN students or RN to BSN students who will soon be graduating as well as seasoned Critical Care Nurses.”

The NAP is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. The first cohort of students began taking classes in May with a graduation date of May 2020 and will help fill the local and national shortage of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
