The Women’s Initiative of Northern Kentucky has announced that international leadership speaker Libby Gill will headline the Second Annual Regional Women’s Summit. The day-long conference is scheduled for September 19 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

Under the theme “Igniting Bold Leadership for Established and Emerging Leaders,” Gill, a globally-known authority on leadership, is adept at addressing women at every career stage.  She will discuss risk taking, managing change, and tips for achieving high potential despite looming obstacles.

After excelling in high level positions at Sony, Universal and Turner broadcasting where she helped women learn to “lift as you climb,” Gill took her inspirational expertise world-wide. Her impressive client list includes ABC-Disney, Comcast, Deloitte, Eli Lilly, GoDaddy, Kellogg’s, Microsoft, Nike, Oracle, PayPal, Warner Bros. and Wells Fargo.  She has been a frequent guest on CNN and the Today Show, and featured in the New York Times, BusinessWeek and the Wall Street Journal.

A prolific author, she candidly chronicles her journey of overcoming the self-perceived limitations left behind by a family legacy of alcoholism, divorce, mental illness and suicide in her best-selling book “Travelling Hopefully: How to Lose Your Family Baggage and Jumpstart Your Life.”  She will also be available to sign her award-winning book, “You Unstuck: Mastering the New Rules of Risk-Taking in Work and Life” and her latest book, “Capture the Mindshare and the Market Share Will Follow: The Art and Science of Building Brands.”  Gill was a key creative mind behind the branding and launch of the Dr. Phil Show.

Last year the inaugural Summit attracted over 300 women from Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. The day features a continental breakfast, keynote address, morning and afternoon breakout sessions, and a luncheon with an address and question and answer period from Libby Gill. She will share her proven “Clarify, Simplify and Execute” process that creates higher performance in the workplace. The Summit price is $159; the fee is $179 at the door.  Those companies registering five or more employees receive a 20 percent discount.

“This is a conference that offers local, inexpensive professional development for every career stage,” says Summit Chair Laura Cook Kroeger. “Not only is Libby a champion for mentoring young professionals. She knows her way around a boardroom and inspires seasoned professionals and entrepreneurs to be bold and resilient. Presenters from around the Tri-State are slated to hold dynamic, career-enhancing breakout sessions.”

In existence for eight years, the Women’s Initiative is the area’s “leading organization for women of all career stages to connect, grow and achieve for business and professional success.” The group hosts an annual breakfast which draws over 700 attendees, has matched dozens in mentoring relationships, sponsors several roundtables for women to experience support from their peers, offers a monthly connect hour for networking, and holds quarterly events to promote growth and learning.
