TANK offers free local and express rides Thursday to help make Brent Spence Bridge construction easier

TANK is offering free rides on all routes on Thursday, June 29. The free ride day is designed to help show how riding TANK can be a great option to get to work during the Brent Spence Bridge construction project.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a series of lane closures and traffic impacts on the bridge and on the routes used to get around the bridge. Major impacts to traffic are expected for approximately 60 days.

“While TANK can’t avoid the bridge traffic completely, our riders can relax and let their professional TANK driver handle the hassle of congested driving across the bridge,” said Andrew Aiello, TANK General Manager. “TANK is a worry-free, low-cost and environmentally-friendly way to get to work – especially for those commuting to downtown Cincinnati from Northern Kentucky.”

Throughout the construction period riders can use one of TANK’s many convenient Park and Ride locations along the I-75 corridor and throughout Northern Kentucky to avoid driving in the congested areas.  TANK is adding additional buses to deal with delays focused particularly on routes serving the Florence Hub (831 Heights Boulevard) and Buttermilk Pike Park and Ride (2304 Buttermilk Crossing), which are locations that offer plenty of parking and service.

“Commuters look for alternate routes or other ways to get where they need to go during construction periods like we’re facing now,” said Aiello. “TANK is an option to consider, and the free rides will give people a chance to try it.”

During the project, traffic approaching the bridge may be backed up for up to 20 miles. Commuters on TANK can spend that time catching up on work, social media or summer reading—all things you can’t do while driving and navigating traffic.

TANK staff can help plan your trip – call (859)331-TANK for details. A detailed Google trip planner is available on the TANK website.
