City of Union announces food truck lineup for the Union Celebrates America Event and fireworks


The City of Union has announced the list of food and beverage vendors who will attend the Union Celebrates America event on June 30.

The Union Celebrates America event will be held at the Union Community Building located at 10087 Old Union Road, starting at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The street party event will begin following the conclusion of the Union Celebrates America parade, set for 7 p.m. on US Highway 42, between Braxton Road and Mt. Zion.

The following food trucks will be attending the 2017 event:

Braxton Brewing-providing a variety of locally brewed craft beers

Kona Ice-Iced flavored drinks and beverages

U Lucky Dawg-gourmet hot dogs with unique toppings and premium local sausages

Kabobske Mediterranean-wraps and salads with Mediterranean flair

SugarSnap! Sweet Treats-gourmet cupcakes and cheesecakes on a stick

Packhouse Meats-meatballs and sauces served many ways

Sweets & Meats BBQ-traditional barbeque flair and street fair

Each truck is associated with the Cincinnati Food Truck Association, and more information, including menus and pricing for each vendor is available through its website

Road Closures

Area residents will also be affected by the closure of US Highway 42 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The area between Braxton Road and Mt. Zion Road will be closed starting at 7 p.m. for the annual Union Celebrates America Parade.  US42 will reopen immediately following the conclusion of the parade event.

The area of OldUS42/Old Union Road between Mt. Zion Road and new US42 will also be closed from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. for through traffic.  The city will hold the street party in that area, featuring the food truck vendors and live music from the Wulfe Brothers Band.

Association and children’s activities including bounce houses, chalk art, crafts and a bubble machine.  The event will conclude at approximately 10 p.m. with a fireworks show by Vito’s Fireworks.

This is the eighth year for the Celebrate America Event, and it continues to grow.  The Celebrate America event is free to attend, and residency of the city is not a requirement.  A complete schedule, parade maps and directions to the event are available on the city website.
