Two orthopaedics organizations combine to become OrthoCincy, largest independent practice in the area

Commonwealth Orthopaedic Centers and Reconstructive Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine announce they are combining on August 1. The new organization will be known as “OrthoCincy” and will launch new website, www.OrthoCincy.com.

OrthoCincy will be the largest independent orthopaedic practice in the Greater Cincinnati and Tri-State area, with 27 physicians, 23 Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, 350 employees, and 10 locations.

Dr. Bruce R. Holladay

OrthoCincy will have physicians on staff at Bethesda North in Montgomery, Jewish Hospital in Kenwood, Mercy Hospital Fairfield, Mercy Anderson, Mercy Clermont, Mercy West, The Christ Hospital, TriHealth in Evendale, Bethesda Butler County, Cincinnati Children’s, St. Elizabeth Edgewood, St. Elizabeth Fort Thomas, and St. Elizabeth Florence Hospitals.

Commonwealth CEO JoAnn Reis, along with Reconstructive Executive Director George Nyktas, will work together along with their management teams to form a new management group which works for OrthoCincy.

Bruce R. Holladay, M.D., of Commonwealth Orthopaedic Centers stated that, “this merger will enable all of us to continue to lead the way in the newest technology and patient services in orthopaedic and sports medicine care. The highly-trained specialists at each practice will now be available to all patients throughout the Tri-State.”

Dr. Timothy McConnell

Timothy B. McConnell, M.D., of Reconstructive Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, added that “having 10 locations is excellent news for patients, providing convenient access to comprehensive, advanced orthopaedic and sports medicine care.”

In recent years, consolidation has occurred across health care, with many independent practices being absorbed by hospital systems. The healthcare consumer is often faced with limited choices together with intimidating and costly experiences when receiving care. This newly-formed larger independent practice provides an opportunity for patients to receive affordable orthopaedic and sports medicine care at a wide range of conveniently-located offices.

OrthoCincy will appear soon on Facebook at “OrthoCincy,” and on Twitter at @OrthoCincy and on a new website at www.OrthoCincy.com. They can be reached by phone at 513-793-3933 or 859-301-BONE (2663).
