Thomas More, Covington Latin team up for ExploreMore!, advancing program for gifted students

Thomas More College announced a partnership with the ExploreMore! Program at Covington Latin School.

Now in its 20th year, ExploreMore! is the region’s premiere enrichment program for gifted students in grades K-12. ExploreMore! also serves as a resource for the families of gifted students, offering a Parent Speaker Series and Parent Resource Room.

The newly-launched collaboration with Thomas More College will enable ExploreMore! to expand its reach and provide additional resources to families, as well as more to offer additional enrichment opportunities for students.

Thomas More College’s Education Department will also benefit from this partnership.

Inasmuch as ExploreMore! is dedicated to bringing hands-on experiences to gifted youth, TMC’s Education students will get the unique opportunity to teach in the area’s only accelerated school with a dedicated program for bright and motivated students, Covington Latin.

Director of ExploreMore! at Covington Latin, Amy Darpel says, “We could not be more thrilled to be partnering with Thomas More College. Having a gifted child can sometimes be difficult due to the lack of resources provided to them. TMC is one of the top education programs in the area, and they recognize the importance of fostering a bright child’s intellect. They will bring their dedication to excellence in education to our program by providing resources that we did not have access to on our own.”

Jason Huther, Headmaster of Covington Latin, believes this new collaboration is a natural fit for the Diocese of Covington education providers.

“Covington Latin has an unparalleled reputation for educating the best and the brightest in the area. The ExploreMore! program is an extension of our commitment to teach gifted
students,” Huther said. “Partnering with Thomas More College, a Diocesan college, only makes sense. This partnership will provide our ExploreMore! and Covington Latin students a unique opportunity to work with a college that shares our dedication and commitment to educating our future leaders.”

Thomas More College and Covington Latin’s ExploreMore! Program will host their summer session on June 5- 9 at Covington Latin. For more information on the program, please visit exploremore.rocks.
