The exhibit, Remembering Harambe, 1999-2016, showcases McCurry’s exclusive photographs and celebrate the life of Harambe, the silverback gorilla whose life tragically ended on May 28, 2016, at the Cincinnati Zoo—almost one year to the day. Saturday’s opening reception also fell on the 18th birthday of Harambe, who was born on May 27, 1999.

McCurry, a resident of Edgewood, is a noted wildlife photographer whose work has been utilized by worldwide media. McCurry’s photographs of Harambe have been featured in numerous publications and online resources, including CNN, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.

Framed and unframed photographs of Harambe will be on sale to the public, as will copies of the recently published novella Harambe: A Tragic Coronation.

The exhibit is scheduled to run at the 580 building for eight weeks. For more information, contact Jeff McCurry at jeffmccurry9@gmail.com or (859) 240-9131.
