Dan Groneck honored as ‘Northern Kentuckian of the Year’ by Covington Catholic High School


Dan Groneck, retired Northern Kentucky president of U.S. Bank, was honored as ‘Northern Kentuckian of the Year’ at an event that benefits Covington Catholic High School.

The event was presented by U.S. Bank.

Groneck and his wife, Elaine, had two sons, Jason and Matthew, who were graduates of CovCath.

During a 49-year career in banking, Groneck was Northern Kentucky President of U.S. Bank from 2001 until December 2016 when he retired.

He is actively engaged in the community, having served on the Faith Community Pharmacy, Northern Kentucky Education Council, St. Elizabeth Hospital FOundation, the Thomas More Building Committee and more. He is past board member of the Dan Beard Councils and an emeritus member of the NKU Foundation and Baker Hunt Foundation.

The luncheon provides funds for the school’s financial assistance program. Over the past year, 105 students were awarded $450,000 in financial aid.
