CVG, Boy Scouts to celebrate Memorial Day; will place more than 400 flags to honor fallen soldiers

Local Boy Scouts will help celebrate Memorial Day by placing more than 400 flags at the entrance of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

The flags will be installed on Saturday, May 27, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

“We look forward to this display every year as it is a way to honor the brave men and women who lost their lives serving our country,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “We thank Boy Scout Troop #1, the Sons of the American Legion and all the volunteers who participate.”

CVG honors troops year round in the USO Military Lounges located in Concourses A and B. More than 15,000 military personnel, veterans and families visit the lounges each year.

The lounges provide a quiet place to relax before flights, with complimentary snacks and travel items donated by the community. In addition, CVG’s concessionaires provide a discount to traveling military personnel.

“We also want to thank those who keep these USO lounges running year round; Delta Air Lines, Paradies Shops and The Kroger Co. for their donations, as well as the USO volunteers who work in the lounges,” said McGraw.
CVG offers more nonstop destinations than any airport in the region, including direct international service to Paris, Toronto, Cancun, Montego Bay, Punta Cana and Freeport Grand Bahama. CVGairport.com is an award-winning, travel-planning resource with flight status, security wait times, parking availability and weather.
