Northern Kentucky’s sophomore men’s golfer Jacob Poore was named a Horizon League First Team All-Conference member on Saturday night.

It marks the best all-league honor for a Norse in the team’s brief two-year history in the Horizon.

Jacob Poore

Poore has been on an absolute tear in the spring. Not only has he earned three-straight top-10 finishes, but the Union (Ryle) native has finished in the top-10 in four of the last five and five of the last seven tournaments. He’s averaging 73.69 strokes per round to lead NKU.

The first team all-league honor for Poore comes one season after Clayton Portz earned a second-team nod.

Northern Kentucky opens play in the 2017 Horizon League Men’s Golf Championship Sunday morning. The championship is set for the El Campeon Course at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida.
