Turfway Park selections for Friday

FRIDAY, MARCH 31

RACE 1
DESERT IMAGE drops to the bottom and rates the edge at this level. K LYN WINS is on a two race win streak and figures to be tough to beat. BOARDING CARD is a contender.

RACE 2
DART TOSS just missed in his debut at Turfway and hooked better in his last two at Oaklawn Park. He should like the move back to the Poly and appears to be in a good spot to get his maiden win for Darrin Miller with Prescott aboard. MEDAL takes the class drop for Dane Kobiskie who has had a very good Turfway meet. He will be tough at this level. PHYLLIS’S FLAG comes off of a six month layoff but fits with these.

RACE 3
DR. CALAHAN is riding a two race win streak and should be able to extend that with another score tonight. HIGHROLLER DAVE comes off of a game win at this level and has the tactical speed to be in contention throughout. He is the one to beat. INDIANA CHARLIE fits in here.

RACE 4
COWBOY CHEYENNE faded badly after rushing up to press a fast pace last out. He figures to make the lead tonight and will be tough to catch with Quinonez picking up the mount for Brian Waltz. HEAT IT UP RICH has been a beaten favorite in his last two but he hasn’t finished worse than third in his last ten races and has to be respected. BUCKEYE NATION comes off of a nice maiden win and rates a chance.

RACE 5
PEGASUS KITTEN was bothered leaving the gate last out but ran well to finish second in that one. She moves up in class after being claimed and can win this one for her new connections. THE RIDGE figures to get a good trip from the inside post. She has just one win in twenty starts but definitely fits in here. CHOCTAW is a three year old taking on the older runners but gets in light with Prentice picking up the mount and could be dangerous.

RACE 6
DRAWBRIGE drops to the bottom and rates the slight edge against this bunch. CIVIL DISPUTE has run well at this level and is the one to beat. TIZON will be rallying form just off of the pace and his best makes him a threat.

RACE 7
DELANTERA has been amazingly consistent for the past two years finishing in the money in all fifteen of her races and winning six times. She has the speed to be on or near the lead throughout and looks like a solid bet to win this one for Doug Danner with E.E. Prentice picking up the mount. TUPELO TIDE was no match for the top pick in her last two but did beat her back in January and looks like the main threat. BELA MENINA moves up in class after two wins against bottom claimers and rates a chance.

RACE 8
SUGAR CANDY ROSE woke up when dropped to this level last out and a repeat of that performance would be good enough to win tonight with Gabriel Lagunes back aboard tonight. CACTUS LADY was no match for the top pick last out but does have the speed to be dangerous in this one. GENTEEL PROMISE is a contender.

RACE 9
CITY WITHOUT PITY has a solid record here at Turfway and has the speed to be on or near the lead throughout. She looks like a winner with Malcom Franklin back aboard for Karyn Wittek. QUIGLEY’S CORNER is a consistent runner who also likes the Turfway Poly. She will be rallying from just off of the pace under Perry Ouzts and her best makes her dangerous. ROB AND JON’S GIRL hasn’t fired in recent races but could wake up tonight getting in light with apprentice Prentice picking up the mount.
