Blue skies and warm temperatures secured a full house — or VIP tent — at Saturday’s sell-out Jack Casino Spiral Stakes

Senator John Schickel, Senate District 11, Florence Mayor, Diane Whalen, and Boone County Judge Executive, Gary Moore enjoy the afternoon in the Spiral Stakes VIP tent.

John Hawkins of Union says Saturday was his first time at the Spiral Stakes. “I absolutely love it. I’ve been to the Derby and Keeneland, and I’ll definitely be back for this next year,” says Hawkins.

Trackside to cheer on Spiral Stakes contender Bronson, were the dapper dressed Jesse Burrage, whose father David Burrage was general manager for Wayne Lukas Racing Stables, and Bronson Mathis, son of Bill and Terry Mathis of Mathis Stables, LLC in Oklahoma, owner of the three-year-old thoroughbred.

Cecil Hensley of Cincinnati was donning stylish race day attire for the Jack Casino Spiral Stakes.
