MaryBeth McGarr has opened a Let It Go Consignment store at 7926 Alexandria Pike in Alexandria.
“We all have material things in our lives that may no longer bring us joy,” said McGarr. “But that doesn’t mean someone else won’t enjoy having it. So, instead of throwing it out, I wanted to provide a place where you bring those items and maybe give them a new life somewhere else.”
The shop is now accepting gently used spring and summer clothing that is less than three years old, cleaned, and pressed.
If the items are brought in on hangers, Ms. McGarr said that she’ll see to it that the hangers are returned to their owners. Any items brought in wrinkled, ripped, or in garbage bags will not be accepted.
She is also accepting accessories such as jewelry, purses, and scarves. As well as home décor and furniture.
“Owning a consignment store is something I’ve always been interested in,” McGarr added. “And Alexandria is a booming community that’s just growing leaps and bounds every year. I just thought we needed a store like this here. And I couldn’t be more excited to open!”

Christina LaCharite has been appointed to the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology by Gov. Matt Bevin.
LaCharite, of Union, is a speech-language pathologist. LaCharite shall serve for a term expiring March 6, 2020.

Robin Givens to speak at YWCA women’s luncheon
Robin Givens, television, film and stage actress and long-time advocate for those facing the challenges of domestic violence, will keynote the 38th Annual YWCA Career Women of Achievement Luncheon. The region’s largest luncheon with over 2,100 in attendance will be held Wednesday, May 10 at Duke Energy Convention Center.

The event honors eight women from the Cincinnati region as Career Women of Achievement for their personal career success, leadership qualities and status as role models for all women. The YWCA also awards two educational scholarships: the Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship presented by Kroger to an African American high school senior, and the Charlotte R. Schmidlapp Scholarship, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee, awarded to an eligible YWCA program participant.
