Kenton County Board of Education asks Neil Stiegelmeyer to return as interim superintendent effective April 1


In a special meeting Tuesday, members of the Kenton County Board of Education named former head of the Kenton County schools as interim superintendent.

Neil Stiegelmeyer has accepted the board’s offer to serve as the Kenton County Interim Superintendent beginning April 1.

He replaces Terry Cox-Cruey who abruptly retired, effective April 1.

Stiegelmeyer has a proven record of successful experiences as the former Superintendent of Kenton County and recently served as the interim Superintendent at Beechwood Independent Schools.

He also served as an Assistant Superintendent in Kenton County and in Fayette County Schools.

The board release the following statement: “He is a strong well respected school leader and is committed to high expectations for students and staff. We are very fortunate to welcome Mr. Neil Stiegelmeyer as the Interim Superintendent of Kenton County Schools. “
